Shelly Fritz

Founder & CEO of the Del Ray Ballroom

Shelley Fritz, owner of The DelRay Ballroom, has taught dance and competed professionally since 1984. She opened her first studio, Brackhan Dance Directive, in 1994, and expanded seven years later when she opened The DelRay Ballroom in a renovated warehouse in the Historic Haymarket.

She has received numerous teaching and performing awards, including Top Teacher in both the Midwest and Northwest Regions, 1st Place in the Fred Astaire Midwest Regional Championships, and she holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Dance with an emphasis in Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

With her wide range of dance knowledge she has been fortunate to perform and compete nationally. She has also taught the joy and love of dance to children and teens in both her ballroom and the public schools. She is most happy, however, having a ballroom where she can encourage dance to flourish in the Lincoln community.

Bridgett is passionate about dance.  She is one of the Founding Mothers of Omaha's Kizomba scene.  She is committed to professionalism and excellence in everything she does. Her famous quote to live by is "Live Life to the Fullest"

Sarah Spinks

Apprentice Instructor

In 2008 Sarah took her first ballroom lesson at the age of 13 and hasn't left the dance floor since.  Growing up with years of music and theatre, the new world of Ballroom dance was exciting and soon became a home away from home.  In growing her dance passion she competed in many competitions across the Midwest area winning top marks with her  instructor Jeremy Jamison.

In 2016 Sarah decided to change her love of dancing into a career and began training as an instructor.  Her goal as an instructor is to encourage people of all walks of life to get out on the dance floor regardless of their skill or ability and bring the love of ballroom back into the spotlight.
